littlebradshaw asked: Hi I'm a new follower to this blog and I've got to say this is an absolutely fantastic sarcastic commentary on the somewhat misogynist magazine, Cosmopolitan. I'm assuming you've already seen that Dakota Fanning, a SEVENTEEN YEAR OLD GIRL, is on the cover of this month's issue. Is it just me or is that appalling? Keep up the hilarious rants my dear - hopefully this will gain the needed publicity it deserves and make women think twice before purchasing this crap.
Hi love! Welcome to the blog.
Thank you very much for the kind words. I’m glad you’re enjoying the commentary. I do actually have that issue of Cosmo right next to me on my desk. I do think it was interesting that they chose to have Dakota on the cover considering she IS still just 17. It actually makes me feel a little uncomfortable, mostly because I don’t know the logistics on being 17 and taking racy photos and having them published. I’m assuming Cosmo would have that all checked out and it’s fine, but it feels weird, man.
At the same time, she will be 18 (the “magic” number) on February 23 (thanks, IMDB!) and honestly? By that age, I was feeling all kinds of sexy (and I had already been reading Cosmo for several years).
So while I do agree that it feels strange — mostly because my favorite film of hers is “I Am Sam” and I still think she’s quite young, like 10 or something — I think that says more about me than anything: I am seriously old inside. Like, the oldest 23-year-old around, probably. Also, TIME. WHERE DID IT GO? I’M JUST SAYING.
